The Petzold Challenge
I've been excited to use py3k but unfortunately most of the Python packages I regularly use have not been ported for use with this new version of the language. Since ctypes is in the standard library I can make full use of it. So I am going to work on an example a day from Charlse Petzold's book Programming Windows writing a version in Python and posting the results here on my blog. Hopefully others can find the programs enjoyable and useful as an example of using ctypes and the Windows API.
These are not literal translations but rather comparable programs that reveal how to accomplish the same general thing with the use of python instead of C. Naturally you still need to understand win32 programming to do it you can snuggle up with your own copy of Petzold's book and sip some cocoa and compare these examples.
